Do Body Wraps Really Work?

Do Body Wraps Really Work?

It’s a question that is becoming more and more common as additional body wrap manufacturers enter the market, and as the craze for weight loss scales new heights with each passing day. The truth is, there are many different types of body wraps available today but not all of them are effective as far as supporting their claims to help people lose weight, detox, and smooth the skin. Here’s the skinny on the body wrap industry – and why some are more effective than others.

Nearly as long as women have been alive, they’ve been looking for ways to beautify their figures and make their skin more supple, soft and smooth.

Cleopatra was known to slather all sorts of natural substances on her body and then wrap herself in strips of linen. Since the 1960s, many spas have offered similar services, using things like clay and mud along with newer, synthetic concoctions purported to provide numerous health benefits. Many of such body wrap treatments dehydrate the body, resulting in quick, but fleeting, water weight loss. Some of them actually do the opposite; they hydrate the skin to plump it up and reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and cellulite. But once again, the effects are only temporary because a topical wrap can’t penetrate beneath the skin and make an individual lose inches just like that. The next wave of body wraps featured a greater reliance on technology. Our own founder, Michel Mikse, was a pioneering developer of a body wrap system that incorporates far infrared rays to penetrate below the skin, raising the core body temperature to provide benefits that are beyond simply “skin deep”. Today, the newest additions to the body wraps are those that rely on pieces of various materials imbued with botanicals. If you remember the days of slathering yourself with lotion and then encasing your body in plastic wrap, you’ve got a general idea of how these cheaper herbal wraps work. However, they are hardly more effective than Cleopatra’s DIY body wraps because, once again, they are topically applied with no method of targeting toxins and fat cells below the skin, and therefore often prove to be ineffective when it comes to losing weight.

The Infrared Difference

It should be clear that the only effective body wrap on the market today is one that utilizes the numerous health benefits of far infrared rays. According to Dr. Flickstein, infrared heat “is simply a form of energy that heats objects directly through a process called conversion, without having to heat the air in between.” Further, “these rays are selectively absorbed by the tissues needing a boost in their output.

The internal production of infrared energy that normally occurs within our tissues is associated with a variety of healing responses and may require a boost to a maximal level to insure the fullest healing response possible in a tissue under repair. After boosting a tissue’s level to maximum, the remaining infrared light passes onward harmlessly.” For more information on how far infrared rays affect the body, please read this article.

That’s why only infrared body wraps can produce lasting weight loss, detoxification, cellulite reduction, and skin tightening. An infrared body wrap not only makes your body look better but can also be used as a very effective treatment for a variety of medical conditions, including arthritis, joint injuries, muscle pain, and even cancer, according to some researchers.
